Leaving Vernon
July 04, 2010
I am leaving tonight from having spent the past 4 days in my home town, Vernon. It wasn’t the usal Okanagan sunshine, but no matter, Deborah and I had a great time anyway.
As usual my brother, Ed, and my sister-in-law, Krista, were extraordinary hosts and Deb and I were able to relax and recharge our batteries. It was much needed.
Saying good bye to old friends and family was tougher than I thought. There is something about how earnestly people are hugging me and saying their farewells. It’s like they perceive dangers ahead that I don’t see.
The world is a friendly place. And trucks, well, they are clumsy at times and so it’s best to not let them step on your feet when you dance with them, but other than that, am I missing something here?
